One of Abiquo’s core focus areas is how we deliver simplicity to the ultimate end user of the service, I.e. The customers consuming the cloud resources. Abiquo offers an application library which allows a service provider to build out their own service catalogue and then make this available to their customers as an easy way of delivering the service.

This means that the service provider is not only providing infrastructure to the customer, but they are also making it very easy for the customer to consume that infrastructure. The application library also provides an ideal opportunity for reseller models, where the reseller will use the application library to provide their own value added services.

Abiquo then provides a very clean, intuive user interface which allows customers to simply ‘drag and drop’ their preferred images or applications from the service catalogue and provision their chosen environment. The customer gets the true value of a “Cloud” service where they are quickly and easily able to deploy new applications or services.

Although the customers are empowered to take advantage of self-service, including networking and storage elements, the service provider is able to maintain control. User accounts and roles are controlled through a robust set of privileges so that the right level of administrative ability can be delegated where necessary.

Customers are also controlled by resource allocations that give them a pool of resources within which they can service themselves. How and where those resources are used remains completely within the control of the service provider or infrastructure owner.
