Increased Integration Capabilities
One update, two new hypervisors
Abiquo v2.6 now includes support for Oracle VM V3.2.1, including support for Oracle’s hard partitioning of Virtual Machine CPU, which is required in order to obtain the licensing benefits of running your Oracle applications on top of Oracle Virtual Machines.
In addition, Abiquo v2.6 also supports Microsoft Server 2012 Hyper-V virtual machines and as with all of the hypervisors that Abiquo manages, Abiquo will automatically create network and VLAN configurations, and will allow users to configure virtual machines through its self service UI, and more.
Deeper Integration into your business
Abiquo’s powerful API already provides options for the Service Provider, creating additional automation/integration choices and enabling Service providers to build additional services around the Abiquo platform. Abiquo 2.6 provides simple workflow out-of-the-box that allows Cloud Administrators to integrate with external workflow systems.
This could simply be a request/approval email, or something more sophisticated such as an order management/approval system, SharePoint, or other workflow systems via the powerful API. Abiquo 2.6 Uses Atmosphere streaming, and exposes the entire event stream from your cloud environment.
You can write integrations to back office systems which subscribe to certain events and take action based on them. An example would be to create a listener which subscribes to VM provisioning events and updates a CMDB to keep your data up-to-date, but the integration capabilities are pretty much limitless.
